Mark Oswald
Hi there, the name is Mark Oswald, but you may call me OsLord. I write for Suite101 as well as a Film blog I started up with a friend, called Soda on the Roof. We make ourselves open to writing about all kinds of movies, but it's been primarily Action-centric in terms of genre, so far. What can i say? Action movies have been a kind of "first love" with me since childhood and that affection has yet to dissipate. I'm also currently working full time as a Technical Editor for The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), located in the Murray Hill area of Manhattan, NYC.
Originally from Nashua, New Hampshire, I graduated from Keene State College (Keene, NH) with a Bachelor's Degree in Communication. I also minored in Music for a time and took additional classes in Film, Journalism, and Computer Science (among others).
Personal hobbies of mine include writing/recording music, and performing in the Melodic Punk/Hardcore band, CALLSIGN, as well as my solo project that goes by the name, Dead in Four (and yes, that is a Die Hard 3 reference). I also had the privilege of touring the United States multiple times with the now-defunct Syracuse, NY-based Hardcore band, Attitude after graduating college in 2006.
Non-musical interests include searching for the world's best Buffalo Wings. I'm a true wing fiend and will not stop in this high-speed pursuit of righteousness! So far my favorite wings are served up at a restaurant/brewery in the town where I went to college, but please feel free to contact me with your own suggestions!
